Thursday, April 2nd, 2009

All daycares should provide rest mats for children during nap time. This ensures a more comfortable and relaxed nap for the child. It also gives each child their own space to sleep in reducing any feeling of being crowded. A rest mat could also greatly influence the child’s behavior and health. Using rest mats would allow a pleasant nap for children. This would make it easier to fall asleep, stay asleep, and wake up feeling refreshed and alert. It would reduce behavioral problems that would result from a uncomfortable nap or restlessness. A good nap also keeps the body healthier and more prepared to fight off sicknesses. Rest mats are an excellent addition to any daycare and the alertness of the children after a nap on these would increase participation in later activities as well as increase productive activity at home.

The Needed Use of Sanitizers in Daycare Centers

Wednesday, April 1st, 2009

Surface sanitizer is needed at a daycare center. It not only cleans the toys, mats slept on, and surfaces touched by children, but also kills any germs that may have been exposed to the objects. The children at the daycare have each come from their own families, where a father or sibling may be ill, and although the child may not appear to be ill, may be spreading the illness to other children through the toys or just other surfaces they have touched. Serious illnesses may be passed this way such as mono, chicken pox, or the flu. Even the common cold could be prevented spreading to other children by simply using surface sanitizer. This makes it much easier on the daycare provider as well as the parents by reducing how many people catch the cold. An effective surface sanitizer keeps the room healthy for everyone that is in it. The easy repeated use of the sanitizer helps keep the daycare clean, looking nice, and the children illness-free.

The Addition of Activity tables to Your Daycare

Tuesday, March 31st, 2009

A good idea for any daycare that provides crafts to children are activity tables. This provides space to keep all of the materials needed for that day’s activity in an organized fashion. It can greatly reduce the mess that is left after the kids have finished and everything is easily placed back where it belongs at the end of the day. It greatly reduces the amount of work for the daycare provider at the end of the day when cleaning is needed, allowing more resources to be put towards bettering the daycare. Having activity tables also teach children at the daycare about organization. Each child can be responsible for their individual mess at the end of each craft session and will soon learn where everything used belongs. This helps them with social skills as well as teaching them how to be responsible for themselves, something any parent would be grateful for. These tables are a great addition to any daycare center where it is a priority for a clean environment that also teaches children about responsibilities.
